Homemade Pizza Recipes

I recently teamed up with Jaime from South On Broadway to bring to you not one, not two but THREE pizza recipes that we are obsessed with (to put it mildly). Every time I gaze at these pictures I just want to go back to that day and eat all of the things. Jaime is pretty much a pizza expert and provided the stone and peel that we used for baking. Check out her post on how to use these awesome pizza tools that yield the best crust ever.

If you don't have a stone or peel, you can bake your pizzas on a baking sheet in the oven at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Quick Pizza Dough Recipe

In my opinion, homemade dough the key component to a kick butt home made pizza, but I rarely plan enough ahead to have the time for a 2 hour rise on pizza dough. Thankfully I recently found an awesome QUICK pizza dough recipe where you only have to wait 20 minutes for your dough to rise. That's the perfect amount of time to get your topping prepped and oven preheated so everything is good to go after your dough is rolled out. It's the quintessential on the fly week night pizza dough recipe and we've made a few variations of it that adds a ton of flavor.

Easy Pizza Sauce Recipe

Quick Homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe

And then ... there's the sauce. When Jaime and I were first planning this post, making our own sauce was a no brainer. If you have an extra 20 minutes in your schedule, it's definitely worth it. It's so easy to make on the fly and all you really have to do is stir, simmer and blend.

Ingredients

2T Olive Oil
1/4c onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2T tomato Paste
1 12oz Can Whole Tomatoes
1/4t dried oregano
Salt & Pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a small sauce pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook until beginning to turn translucent. Add garlic and continue to cook for 1 minute.
  2. Add tomato paste and canned tomatoes. Simmer until thickened, about 15 minutes.
  3. Stir in dried oregano and salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Blend together with immersion blender, food processor or blender. Set aside until ready to use.
